Wow! We arrived in NE to a beautiful yard with a much needed mowing and lots of gorgeous flowers in the bed outside the kitchen window. It is wonderful to be in the kitchen and see lillies and purple cone flowers and bumble bee bushes...
The best part of this move has been being surrounded by friends and family the whole way. We left some amazing supports and friendships in Atlanta and have arrived to loving, caring and supportive family and friends. We certainly are grateful and thankful for the way God has blessed our lives and it is through our family and friends that we truly feel our creator's love.
The drive was uneventful other than a blow out on the 26 ft. UHAUL just north of Kansas City. Thankfully it was in a big city and easy to repair; Not in the middle of nowhere. The total drive was about 27 hours and my sister was such a huge help in keeping me awake and focused. Thanks to the best navigator and DJ ever!
We will begin some resemblance of a routine starting Monday. Part of me is looking forward to having a clear to-do list and accomplishing it. However, I have loved that last month of time with CJ. It was a much needed break for the two of us and we are beginning our new life in NE on the right path and with the same heart.
To finish my rant, I will have to say that Midwesterners are the nicest people I have met. Being from the East coast (both NJ and FL and spent plenty of time in NOLA and GA/ATL), I prided myself on Southern hospitality. I stand corrected! Midwesterners are known for their service and hardworking attitudes. I love being able to catch a stranger's eye, smile and they smile back or say hello. Our neighbors have been so gracious and kind to us with many introductions and offers to help us in whatever way they can. I can tell life here is going to suit me well!
